We have added another impressive bit of kit to our expanding fleet – the Sennebogen 673R Telescopic Crawler Crane.
This 673R telescopic crawler crane has many features that provide enough dexterity to deliver impressive end results when performing countless tasks on site.
Pat Stapleton, Appointed Person of Moortown said “ After a huge amount of research we opted for a machine that was not only fit for purpose but one that would also meet our future growth plans with the first job to help with the construction of a new Hilton Hotel, in Doncaster”.
Some of the the features of the Sennbogen 673R include:

We at Moortown Group place a great deal of emphasis on looking after our people and the environment that we operate in. Our safety policies and processes are regularly checked, updated and improved to ensure our standards never fall short of our customer’s expectations. For our drivers to be recently awarded a Bronze accreditation by the Fleet Operators Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a testament to these values.
For those that might not know, FORS is a voluntary accreditation scheme. It encompasses all aspects of safety, fuel efficiency, vehicle emissions and improved operations. The organisation helps fleet operators to measure and monitor performance and alter their systems in order to demonstrate best practice. This scheme is open to all operators of vans, lorries, mini-buses, coaches and other vehicles; and to the organisations that award contracts to such operators.
Voluntary or not, FORS work in partnership to help businesses, regardless of their size, to take stock, review and develop an improved way of working that is beneficial to all. Their mantra “Prove you're safer and greener - whatever you are driving and wherever you are in Europe” certainly resonated with the management team at Moortown Group.
In the words of our HSQE Manager Jonathan Milnes “ The chance to improve our drivers road safety skills, seeing a reduction in our fuel emissions and gaining greater industry intelligence, was too big of an opportunity for the Company to let it pass by”.
Working with FORS, using their toolkits and advise has meant that the Group’s health and safety culture is continually being enhanced. What is more, the best practice that we have put in place is also helping to drive down fuel consumption across our whole transport fleet; it’s cutting carbon emissions as well as helping Moortown Group to reduce its environmental impact.
This Bronze accreditation might be the benchmark for now but it is only the beginning. For we at Moortown Group have set our sights on the Gold accreditation. So, watch this space, as the saying goes.

Anyone charged with the task of looking after Quality Management Systems (QMS) for their organisation will know just how much hard work goes into securing and maintaining their accreditations. Subject to the size of the business, QMS’s require detailed reviews of policies and procedures and due diligence to ensure everything is in order so the business can continue to provide quality products and services. With this in mind, we’re proud to be able to boast that Moortown Group have yet again secured the ISO 9001:2015 standard.
Thanks to all those internally involved with the audits, measurements, analysis, as well as suggestions on improvements – we can all continue to improve – our processes and systems were rewarded with the company, once again, being applauded for its attention to detail by the auditors.
The current version of ISO 9001, released in September 2015, includes revisions to ensure that not only is the Standard up-to-date – to reflect the changing environment organisations operate in – but that businesses themselves are making transitions within their QMS’s.
We at Moortown Group are not only the top of our game but we are also way ahead of the game. We recognise that to continually enhance our customer’s journey, from design to delivery, the management of resources, including human resources and the companies working environment, is the biggest contributor to our success.
Everyday new contracts and business enquiries come through our doors but we never take them for granted. Whilst our approach and commitment to delivering our service over and beyond just ’satisfactory’ is officially affirmed with this prestigious accreditation, you might be surprised to learn that there’s more to follow. Moortown Group are currently working hard on the ISO 14001:2015 and we hope to secure this too in 2017.
